Connect Claude to your to-do list

Add AI TODO List as a connector in Claude and your to-do list becomes something Claude can read and change. Mention what you need to do and it is on the board. Ask what is due this week and Claude reads the real list. Tell it you finished something and the task is ticked off.

The connection runs over MCP, the open standard Claude supports natively. There is nothing to install: you paste one address, sign in with your email code, and the connection keeps working on its own.

What you need

  • An AI TODO List account. Sign in at the homepage with your email.
  • Any Claude plan. Free allows one custom connector; Pro, Max, Team and Enterprise allow more.
  • Claude on the web at claude.ai or in the Claude desktop app.

Your connection address

The setup below uses this address, the AI TODO List MCP server:

Step-by-step setup

  1. Open Claude's connector settings

In Claude, open Settings → Connectors. Connectors are how Claude reaches tools outside the chat, and each one is limited to what it is allowed to do.

  2. Add a custom connector

Click Add custom connector, name it AI TODO List, paste the address below into the Remote MCP server URL field, and click Add.

    https://api.minosin.com/api/aitodolist/v1/mcp
  3. Sign in with your email code

Claude opens the AI TODO List sign-in page. Enter your email, type the code we send you, and click Allow. The same passwordless login the web app uses; no password or token is copied.

  4. Ask Claude about your list

In a new conversation, try "what is on my to-do list?". Claude confirms the connector the first time it uses it; from then on your board is simply something Claude knows about.

What you can do once connected

Claude is good at the thinking part: turning a messy description into clear tasks, and deciding what to do first. Things people actually say:

  • Add buy milk and call the dentist for tomorrow.
  • I just got out of a meeting. Here is what I promised, add each one as a task.
  • What is due today, and what is overdue?
  • Plan my day: pick the top three and tell me why.
  • I finished the slides. Tick it off and move the review task to In progress.
  • Tidy my board: archive the done tasks and ask me about anything older than a month.

Every change lands on the same board you see in the browser, right away. Tasks can be archived but never deleted by the assistant, so nothing is lost to a misread prompt.

Troubleshooting

Add custom connector is missing or greyed out.

The Free plan allows one custom connector, so remove the one you have or upgrade. On Team and Enterprise, an owner first adds AI TODO List under Organization settings → Connectors; members then enable it under their own Connectors.

The sign-in page never appears.

Allow pop-ups for claude.ai, or on the desktop app check behind the main window, and try adding the connector again.

Claude answers from memory instead of reading my board.

Name the connector: "use AI TODO List to check what is due". Once Claude has used it in a conversation, follow-up questions stay grounded in the real tasks.

Frequently asked questions

Does this work in the Claude mobile apps?

Set the connector up once on claude.ai or the Claude desktop app, where connectors are managed. It is tied to your Claude account, so wherever your plan supports connectors, AI TODO List comes along.

Is it safe to let an AI assistant touch my to-do list?

The connection is limited on purpose: the assistant can add, edit, move, complete, reopen and archive tasks, but it can never delete one. Archived tasks keep their history and can be restored. You can disconnect the assistant at any time from its own connector settings.

Do I need a paid AI TODO List subscription?

Yes, using the board from an assistant needs an active subscription, the same one subscription that covers the web app and every connection. The yearly plan starts with a free month, so you can set the connection up and use it for a month before anything is charged.

What is MCP?

MCP (Model Context Protocol) is an open standard that lets AI assistants talk to outside tools. AI TODO List hosts an MCP server, so any assistant that supports it can read and change your board without a plugin or an API key. You sign in once with an email code.

Do changes made by the assistant show up in the web app?

Yes, right away. The assistant works on the same board you see in the browser, so a task added from a chat is on the board before you switch tabs, and a task you drag to Done in the browser is what the assistant reads next time you ask.
